SMS Consent & Opt-In Policy

Last updated: June 1, 2026 · Operator: Vellor Systems LLC · Product: Deskwise

Who is texting you

SMS messages sent through Deskwise originate from Vellor Systems LLC (the messaging-platform operator). The toll-free sending number is +1 (844) 594-0761, registered under Twilio Toll-Free Verification (use case: Customer Care).

Each individual message is sent on behalf ofthe small business you booked with (your "operator" — your salon, dentist, plumber, etc.). The message body always identifies that operator by name in the first line, so you know which business is reaching out even though the sender number belongs to Vellor Systems.

Replies are routed back to that operator's Deskwise inbox. Replying STOP unsubscribes you from all Vellor Systems SMS across every operator using Deskwise.

What this page is

Deskwise is an AI receptionist used by small service businesses ("operators") — salons, dental practices, plumbers, HVAC contractors, and similar. When an operator's customer (the "end user") interacts with Deskwise to book or manage an appointment, Deskwise may send that end user transactional SMS messages on the operator's behalf.

This page documents how Deskwise collects consent before sending any SMS, what messages we send, and how end users can stop receiving them. It satisfies the consent-disclosure requirements of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the CTIA Messaging Principles & Best Practices, and the carriers' toll-free verification rules.

How end users opt in

Deskwise obtains express written or verbal consent through one or more of the following paths before sending SMS:

  1. Inbound call to the operator's number. When an end user calls an operator's Deskwise-managed phone number and books or schedules with the AI agent, the agent verbally discloses the SMS confirmation: "I'll send you a text confirmation at this number. Reply STOP at any time to opt out." The end user's decision to proceed with the booking constitutes affirmative consent. The verbal disclosure is captured in the call recording (when recording is enabled by the operator).
  2. Inbound SMS to the operator's number. When an end user sends the first text message to an operator's Deskwise number, the conversation is consumer-initiated. Replies sent during that conversation are transactional and limited to the topic the end user raised. Auto-replies always include opt-out instructions.
  3. Online booking form on the operator's site. Some operators embed a Deskwise booking widget. Before the end user submits, they must check a required box that reads: "I agree to receive transactional SMS from [Operator Name] via Deskwise, including appointment confirmations and reminders. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe." Consent is logged with timestamp and IP address.
  4. In-person consent collected by the operator. When an operator manually enters an end user's phone number into Deskwise, the operator attests that they have collected SMS consent from that end user in person, in writing, or by other clear affirmative act. The operator agrees to this in our Terms of Service §7.

What messages we send

Deskwise sends only transactional messages on behalf of operators. We do not send marketing, promotional, or third-party content. Message categories:

  • Appointment confirmations
  • Day-of and pre-appointment reminders
  • Reschedule / cancel confirmations (e.g., "Reply C to confirm, R to reschedule")
  • Two-way conversational responses initiated by the end user
  • Operator-authored account notifications (e.g., quote ready, invoice ready)
  • Verification / one-time passcodes

Example messages

Hi Jane, this is Acme Plumbing confirming your appointment on Tuesday Jun 4 at 10 a.m. Reply C to confirm, R to reschedule, STOP to unsubscribe.
Reminder: your appointment with Acme Plumbing is tomorrow at 10 a.m. Reply C to confirm, R to reschedule. Msg & data rates may apply. STOP to unsubscribe.
Your Deskwise verification code is 123456. Don't share this. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

Message frequency

Most end users receive at most 1–3 messages per booking. End users will not receive recurring marketing SMS from Deskwise.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply. The end user's mobile carrier may charge for sending or receiving SMS, depending on the end user's plan. Deskwise does not charge end users directly for SMS.

How to opt out

End users can opt out of all Deskwise SMS at any time by replying STOPto any message. Opt-out is processed immediately and applies to all future transactional SMS from that operator's Deskwise number to that mobile number. End users can also reply HELP for contact information.

End users who opted out can opt back in by replying START or UNSTOP, or by contacting the operator directly.

Privacy

Mobile phone numbers collected for SMS are stored encrypted at rest and used only to deliver the transactional messages described above. We do not sell or rent mobile phone numbers to third parties. Read our full Privacy Policy for retention periods and data-subject rights.
